KB Piano is a piano simulator with a very simple and user-friendly graphic interface. It is a very useful tool for all levels and can be very helpful for composing and editing tunes. Different instruments like guitar, violin, bass, choir effects, flute and orchestra effects can be simulated using the on-screen piano interface. With six octaves of musical notes, the software can simulate upto 128 different instrument sounds. The keyboard can also be used and customized for faster input of sounds. KB Piano also contains an in-built tool called “QChords” which can be used to input chords at the press of a key. This is very helpful to users without in-depth knowledge of chords. KB Piano software supports *.kbp format files, but also allows import and export of files to common formats like *.wav, *.wmv and *.midi. Small compositions can be converted to MIDI format and used for professional mixing and editing by other applications. The software also provides in-built effects like reverb, chorus, flanger, distortion and echo.
KB Piano is a very powerful yet flexible tool. It can be used for small professional projects too as it allows multi channel (upto 99 channels) live recording from real instruments. The tracks can be mixed and edited simultaneously using the “Events Editor” tool to create well defined recordings. There is also a tool to increase or decrease the tempo of simulated sounds.
Many other tools like the ‘Metronome’ for keeping beats, ‘Recording Speed Setup’, marking of recorded areas and changeable tuning makes KB Piano a very useful piano simulator. The software package also includes a tutorial about its applications.
